Today I want to share with you five cards I have made so far with the July 2020 Pink and Main Kit. If you haven’t tried one of these kits before, I would highly recommend them. You can find next month’s kit here. You get so much product! This month I received two die sets, a stencil and a stamp set along with the full pad of 6×6 paper, cardstock, chipboard pieces and lots of embellishments. They are a great way to grow your crafty collection whether you are just starting out or have been paper crafting for years. With everything coordinated to work well together you can just add ink and start crafting!
Card 1
This first card was super quick! I used one of the full image pieces of patterned paper. I cut this down to 5.5 x 5.5 so that I could use a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper for my base. Cutting 3 inches off the 8 1/2 inch side allowed me to get the 5.5 x 11 piece and score at 5.5. I just added one of the chipboard pieces and a few of the enamel dots to finish it off.
Card 2
This card was made using pieces from both of the die sets. The kite used scraps of two pieces of patterned paper. I love the sun image with the separate pieces so that I can mix the colors. Of course I had to add some Wink of Stella to get that sparkle. I cut the edges of the clouds off. That keeps them from crowding into the middle of the card. I also feel it gives it a more finished look. The card stock in the kit had this nice texture on one side. I like the added dimensions that gives. A few sequins finish this card off.
Card 3
This card I used the rainbow stamp included in the kit. This fun hand drawn style makes it so easy. You can be off and it looks like the purpose of the design. I used the fun plaid pattern and ran a couple of strips of solid card stock across to break it up a bit. When I stamped my image out I set it to the right side of my circle so that I could cut a piece off and line it up on the left side of the card. I then die cut several circles to play with patterns for embellishments. I made all of these circles with the Pink and Main Circle Die Set. I am loving this die set! It has 21 circles from 1/2″ all the way up to 5 1/2″. This has become one of my most used die sets in my craft room.
Card 4
This card is a another pretty quick and simple card. All those polka dots are just so cheerful. I cut a piece 4″ by 2″ at the top and 4″ by 3 1/4″ for the bottom. I mounted those on a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ white card stock then wrapped the coordinating polka dot ribbon around. Isn’t that just perfect to match the two colors? The rainbow paper strip down the middle 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ with a mat of orange that is 2 3/8″ x 5 1/4″. I added a chipboard sentiment and some enamel dots to bring that blue down into the bottom of the card. The whole panel was then mounted on foam tape for dimension.
Card 5
This last card from the July 2020 Pink and Main Kit is my favorite! The slimline card allows more space to create a scene. The card base is 7″ by 8″ scored at 3 1/2″. I used the stencil in the kit and some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink to create a light cloud background. It is very subtle but keeps the panel from being too stark white. If you haven’t seen the Pink and Main Ergonomic Blending Brush you should check it out. Simply use the Scrub It Cloth to wipe it down and you can easily switch colors. It’s also very comfortable to hold.
The frame was made using this great set of slimline dies from Kat Scrappiness. On the inside panel you cut out you get not only the scalloped design but stitching as well. These dies as well as others are on sale at the time of this posting.
I used the dies from the kit to add the sun, clouds and rainbow. The rainbow was added to the back of the frame piece so it is in front of the acetate. Did you notice I got my colors out of order? Oh well, it’s still a pretty card! I used foam strips to adhere the panel to the card base. When making a large shaker card like this I like to glue some of my sequins down so there will always be some visible in the panel.
Hopefully you enjoyed these cards made using the July 2020 Pink and Main kit. This one is sold out but you can try out next month’s kit. They do sell out so you will want to sign up early here! The best part is I still have a lot more product to make additional cards. I am linking my video tutorial below. I had some issues with the file and it changed the aspect ration and cropped the video size down.
